Saint Mary Academy Families,
I am excited to officially launch Saint Mary Academy’s 2026–2031 Strategic Plan, a five-year roadmap that establishes our priorities and sets our sights on an even brighter future for our students, our families, and our school.
This plan is not simply a document created by administration. It is a plan shaped by the Saint Mary Academy community. Over the past year, we intentionally sought input from our parents, faculty, staff, PTO, School Board, and other members of the SMA family through surveys, conversations, meetings, and strategic visioning sessions. We asked an important question: What is the best path forward for Saint Mary Academy?
The goals and aspirations in this plan reflect what we heard.
Our plan is built around four major aspirations:
Deepen Catholic Identity – We want to strengthen faith formation, expand student participation in liturgical ministries and service-learning, deepen our partnership with Saint Bernadette Parish, and remain focused on forming students who live their faith each day.
Achieve Academic Excellence – We will continue to strengthen curriculum and instruction, expand STEAM opportunities, support both advanced and struggling learners, invest in professional development, and recruit and retain outstanding teachers. We will also continue our focus on improving student achievement in reading and mathematics.
Strengthen Community & Family Engagement – Our goal is to create even stronger relationships between school and home. This includes improving communication, increasing opportunities for parent involvement and volunteerism, expanding extracurricular opportunities, and creating additional ways for families to be connected to the life of SMA.
Ensure Long-Term Sustainability – We want to position Saint Mary Academy for continued success well into the future. This includes growing enrollment, strengthening our financial health, pursuing a five-year capital campaign, expanding tuition assistance opportunities, and developing a campus master plan that addresses future growth, safety, accessibility, athletics, technology, and facilities.
The future of SMA will not be built by one person or one group. It will be built together: by our students, teachers, staff, parents, parish, alumni, and community.
I am incredibly excited about where Saint Mary Academy is headed. Our five-year plan gives us a clear direction, but the most exciting part is knowing that the path ahead was shaped by the very people who make SMA such a special place.
Thank you for your continued partnership, your trust, and your belief in Saint Mary Academy. Thank you for helping make Saint Mary Academy’s Light Shine!
